General Questions

The entire translation process is handled online to ensure we can provide you the best value in the translation industry. In general, here are the steps:

  • Place your order online by uploading your documents, specifying the language pair, selecting options and making your payment.
  • Our support staff will select the best translator for your project based on multiple factors including the subject material and legibility of your documents as some translators are better at reading handwritten text for example.
  • Once complete, you'll be emailed a link to securely download your translated files. Certain orders, such as those with a physical copy, will require your approval before being finalized and shipped to you. This is also done through your order status page.
  • You can request a revision through your order status page up to 30 days after your translation was completed. A translator will review the request and apply as appropriate. Translators have final say regarding the appropriateness of a revision request.

We only use 100% human translation carried out by professional translators. Our translators are based all over the world and typically have a minimum of 5 years of experience as professional translators. Many carry a variety of accreditations and certifications, but this varies per translator as there is no standard worldwide accreditation or certification for translators.

Turnaround time depends on many factors including the word count, language pair, current demand, translator availability and complexity of the source document to name a few. In general though, 1-3 page documents (up to 750 words) are delivered digitally in 24 hours or less. Expedited turnaround is available to reduce the turnaround time by approximately 50%.

During checkout an estimated turnaround time for the digital copy will be supplied. If you opt to receive a physical copy as well there will be additional transit time for USPS to deliver the package. This will also be listed during checkout.

You may also request a quote to get an estimated turnaround time. We will do everything possible to meet or exceed the estimated turnaround time given to you.

We can translate nearly any legible document. Please review the list of our most common documents. If you are unsure about your document, please contact us.

Our translations are generally accepted by governments, courts, universities, etc. worldwide, but it is your responsibility to ensure our translation will meet the specific requirements of the receiving office. If you aren't sure, contact us with a list of their requirements and we can review with you.

We regularly perform translations for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and are intimately familiar with their requirements. Therefore we guarantee acceptance of our certified translations by USCIS.

During checkout you will find a notes field where you can enter any notes you'd like our staff or your translator to have. Proper spelling of names and places are suggested as not all are directly translatable.

  • Your information, including files, is transmitted through SHA-256 with RSA-2048 SSL/TLS encryption, which is the current standard for encryption on the web.
  • Your credit card information is never stored with us. It is only handled in a PCI compliant environment by our processing partner Braintree (a PayPal company).
  • We will never share your files or personal information with anyone outside of RushTranslate.
  • Files are only available to essential staff with signed NDAs and only while orders are in progress.

Certified Translations

Certified translations are a specific type of translation required by U.S. Immigration (USCIS acceptance), high school and university application and enrollment, passport office usage and many other local, state, and federal government official uses. Certified translations are word-for-word and delivered on RushTranslate letterhead including a signed and stamped Certificate of Translation Accuracy, which attests to the thoroughness and accuracy of the translation and the qualifications of the translator. Certified translations are $24.95 per page. We offer several optional services priced as follows:

  • Expedited turnaround to reduce turnaround time by 50%: $14.95 per page.
  • Notarization to verify the authenticity of the translation: $19.95 per order.
  • Shipping of the original translation to you: from $12.95 per order.
  • Currency conversion at the conversion rate you specify: $14.95 per page.

Certified translations are delivered as a non-editable PDF file and include a signed and stamped English language Certificate of Translation Accuracy, which attests to the thoroughness and accuracy of the translation and the qualifications of the translator. In addition, our certified translations:

  • Are on company letterhead containing our ATA member number, phone number and address.
  • Include the order number and page number on each page.
  • Are formatted similar to, but not exactly like, the source document.
  • Are word-for-word translations of the source, which means some phrases might not be ideal, but we cannot interpret the meaning of a phrase, only provide an exact translation per certified translation standards.
  • Do not include a copy of your source files in the same PDF unless specifically requested.

If you order a physical copy we will ship you an unfolded copy of the translation with wet ink signatures in a cardboard USPS envelope printed on 24 lb. paper via a color laser printer. We do not print and ship a copy of your source documents as you will pair our translation with the originals already in your possession.

Expedited turnaround is available for $14.95 per page and will reduce turnaround time by approximately 50%. Expedited orders are flagged as high-priority and moved to the front of the queue to ensure the quickest turnaround possible.

We offer notarization as an option on all certified translation orders for $19.95 per order. Each Certificate of Translation Accuracy will be notarized for the single fee. Notarization includes a wet ink signature from a representative of our company and the Indiana Notary Public along with a rubber ink stamp from the notary with their commission number and commission expiration date. If you need an apostille for the notary you'll obtain that free of charge from the Indiana Secretary of State. Full details on the SOS website.

We offer USPS Priority and Express Mail services with tracking starting at $12.95 per order. Pricing and transit times vary by destination and are listed during checkout or you may request a quote.

Currency conversion is not included with our certified translations. We do offer currency conversion on a case-by-case basis and can provide you with a quote for the service. You will have to supply the exchange rate and we will note it on the Certificate of Translation Accuracy.

We do not offer evaluations of foreign credentials. We can translate your academic documents and then you will have an accredited specialist evaluate the credentials to find the equivalences in your target country.

We cannot fill out any forms for you – this includes forms that you are submitting as well as forms required to accompany your submission.

General Translations

General translations are typically used for business or personal purposes including employee manuals, emails, text messages, financial statements, press releases, legal contracts and many more. General translations are priced per word and delivered in an editable format so you can use them in any manner you like. Learn more about general translations.

General translations are $0.10 per word. We also offer expedited turnaround, which reduces the turnaround time by approximately 50% for and additional $0.06 per word. Unsure of your word count? Request a quote.

General translations are delivered as an editable Microsoft Word document (.docx). If you need another format such as .pages, .txt, .rtf, etc. we can likely accommodate. General translations only include very basic formatting. If you have complex formatting or need the translation to be completed in the document you supply please contact us and include a detailed description of your needs.

We do not accept physical copies of documents either in person or via mail. We only accept digital copies uploaded through this website's secure uploader for quotes and orders. This is the safest and most efficient way to handle your documents.

We exclusively offer email support to ensure accuracy and efficiency in supporting your translation needs. We found that phone support was too prone to miscommunication when dealing with the wide variety of documents and languages we support.

You can check the status of your order anytime by visiting your order status page.

We will do everything possible to accommodate your modification request, but these will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellation requests will also be handled on a case-by-case basis and any work completed cannot be canceled. If possible we will have the translator stop the project and we will issue a pro-rated refund for work not completed. Smaller orders are typically not able to be canceled once they have been accepted by a translator.
